A Little Encouragement for Rough Times
Sometimes life throws us curveballs; other times it throws us a giant, planet-sized sphere of perilous restriction hellbent on crashing into our own orbit. These moments teach us to grow, to move past our egos, and to realize that we can't always make it on our own.
We call these world-shattering moments the storms of life. Whether it's the loss of someone close to us or a bad breakup, these iconic moments serve to remind us that life is a malleable and changing thing.
Strictly speaking, we must move with the winds of change, becoming a bending reed able to follow that wind shift to wherever we end up next.
Staying stagnant isn't good for anyone. We must allow life to ripple our little ponds and let the water flow where it must.
If that means letting things go or cutting certain people out that no longer serve your best interests, then that's what it takes.
It doesn't mean you don't use the pain or remember the good things; it means you have so much life left to live that there's no point in staying on the starting line when the goal is forward.
Negative thought patterns are a guaranteed killer, stifling our visions and goals with their sneaky tendrils.
Negative people are much the same, only offering problematic takes on what it is you're trying to achieve. Who cares if they think you're not going to make it? Who cares if someone thinks you're a joke? Who cares what someone else says about the path you're meant to blaze?
Every person who has made their mark in this world has faced those things. And you know what? You know their names. You've seen their visions manifest in reality.
The question is: What is your vision?
What are you doing to work toward that vision in the here and now?
Visions don't just magically become a reality. They come to life when you take your brush and paint it out. Every stroke, every color—it's all you. You're the master of this dungeon, the captain of the new guard in the army of tomorrow.
The world is looking for new horizons, new roads unpaved with the greatest intentions.
Follow the talent you have. If you can't find it, look harder. It's there, waiting to be excavated. It's that ever-elusive fossil of your destiny, waiting for you to dig it up and dust off the dirt piled on from years of undiscovery.
And you know what? Today is the best time to start anything. Don't wait for tomorrow to come if you've got the tools today. Swords aren't dulled by staying in the scabbard. They dull in combat so that they may be sharpened once more and perform their function.
Don't stay stuck because of what happened yesterday. Every day is a new day. A blank page is waiting for your pen. Only you can write your own tale.
So what's your story going to be about? The one who gave up, or the one who pushed on despite opposition, obstacles, flame, and war?
Press on and reach new heights.
The world is waiting for your spark to ignite.
