The World Is Gray, When You Can't See the Colors
The saddest thing to witness is people who don't have dreams.
A goal, a wish, or something to fulfill.
Being the only dreamer in a room can be unsettling.
But that's who becomes successful. Not the people who think they can't make it, but the people who are crazy enough to think they can.
"Your head is in the clouds."
"You'll never achieve your dreams."
"Be mediocre like us."
"Just living to repeat the same day over and over is normal."
If someone says you're dreaming too big, they're thinking in a limited capacity.
I won't apologize when I say these are my dreams, not anyone else's.
Life is far too short for us to worry about not making it.
Writing novels is what I love to do. Storytelling as a whole is something I love and crave.
And even if I don't make it, it still brings me incredible joy to tell stories.
I win either way.
Negative people do not win at all. They see the worst in life and in other people.
My dream of flying jets turned to ashes, but if it weren't for my medical condition, I'm confident it would work.
If you don't think you can do something, that's your problem, not mine. That doesn't mean I can't do it.
If you're telling yourself you can't do something, you're probably right.
I refuse to live my life like that.
There's something gorgeous about every day we live.
I have a wonderful family and a positive outlook.
I'm made for more, and I refuse to believe anything else.
Even if it takes me decades more, I will get there.
Most people don't do the work required to get there.
As Paulo Coelho said in The Alchemist, we all have our personal legends.
The greatest gift is finding what that is and making others happy, which in turn makes you happy.
People can have their herd mentality; I'll have my goals.
You keep talking; I'll keep working and making a way.
Instead of talking about those that do, I'm the one doing it.
Many folks can't wrap their heads around there being more out there.
"It's impossible to make that much money."
"Rich people have everything given to them."
Typical negative mindset.
No, those who make it never give up, even after failure and rejection.
Overnight success takes years.
You've got to keep that vision alive.
No matter how it looks or how long it takes, you fight for your dreams with all you have.
You get better at marketing, you stop being preachy, and you find solutions.
You rebrand multiple times until something clicks.
You make those mistakes in the trenches.
And then you apply what you've learned.
Then someday, whether six months or fifteen years later, you'll be exactly where you need to be.
And if you're where you need to be, you're able to help others get to where they need to be.
That way, everyone wins, and everyone succeeds.
So keep dreaming; keep your head in the clouds.
Because it's the lofty heights you want to reach, not the ground.
