A Cool Summer Morning Thought About Prayerful Starts

There's something about cool summer mornings that reminds me of autumn. The gentle breeze caresses your cheeks as you breathe in the slightly heavier air and enjoy the break from the heat, if only for a little while.

These times are ideal to commune with our Father in the heavens. They remind me that He created such a varied world, with fluctuations in each day and weather pattern—enough of them to keep the days interesting and fresh.

Today's thought is that some things are meant for us alone. Not everyone needs to know the secret things between us and God.

I recently shared an experience about a member of my family that I hadn't met that should have been kept private. Not everything we hear or experience is meant for everyone's ears.

When we have a close relationship with our King, there are some things we should keep between us and Him.

What kind of friendship is there where there isn't some form of secret between two individuals?

I'm done trying to figure things out on my own, leaving room for God's mysterious ways.

I will say I've been so happy in 2024. I'm beyond words ecstatic. While I'm not where I would like to be yet and something might feel so far away, I'll keep it all close to my heart so I can take each day a step at a time, knowing it will all fall into place the right way.

There's no need to lie, cheat, or deceive to receive the things meant for us.

Sometimes that means making choices that ultimately lead to healthier environments and relationships.

Other times, it's gratitude for the things we do have, which are good.

Whatever it may be, gratitude is food for the soul.

I'm preparing for the day ahead, listening to Latin salsa ballads with the cool morning air surrounding me.

Even our music choices for the day can make the atmosphere change, and they even set the mood of the day.

It's almost a meditative grace that comes from knowing you're part of something bigger, knowing God wants to be a friend to us, and enjoying His creation.

I'm happy, and I feel like dancing.

That's how I know it will be an excellent day.

This contemplative time is best enjoyed between a believer and God alone, but I don't feel it's wrong to share how it makes me feel.

Some secrets are sweet, and we hold them close to our hearts, but God isn't a secret. That relationship is available to all of us.

Start your day with meditative prayer and reflection, and it will be so much sweeter.
