A Thought on Blessings and Timing

Working early in the morning often puts my mind into a massive spiral of thoughts. This morning, as I work, I've been thinking about the idea that God blesses His people when they follow His instructions.

Many people expect God to just give them anything and everything.

However, God is a Father. Think back to your childhood. Did your father have rules to follow to stay in his good graces?

Often, when you stayed within those boundaries, I'm sure a good father rewarded you accordingly.

Yahweh is like that. He rewards us when we keep His commandments. Sabbath, eating clean foods, keeping the Feasts as best we can, loving our neighbor as ourselves, etc.

God is not a cosmic gacha machine; He is a personal being.

Don't expect the blessings of the covenant if you're not keeping the things found therein.

Yahweh sends rain on the just and the unjust and takes care of all His creations.

But God doesn't offer His biggest blessings, like those of Hebrews 11 and the patriarchs and matriarchs of our faith, without committing to following His laws.

Seek His will in all you do and keep the commands, and you will have abundant life.

And a good father doesn't give you things you don't know how to handle.

God's timing is perfect. Maybe that thing you want is meant for your 40s, not your 30s or 20s.

Could He bless you earlier than that? Of course!

But if He promised you something, it might take a long time. That's how it was for Abraham, Moses, Joseph, and even Jesus Himself.

In the meantime, walk by the commandments, and in due time, you will see your desires fulfilled. Amen and amen.
