Doing Things the Right Way
As followers of Jesus Christ, we shouldn't ever rush into things blindly.
We must think things through first. Earlier this year (some time around Valentine's Day), I had a sudden, specific realization, and it rocked the foundations of everything in my life.
It made me realize God is looking out for me, and the things I want are so close. It wasn't merely a trick of the mind, or seeing things that weren't the way they were.
Everything was right on time, and the way it needed to be.
I was wholly correct, and that knowledge took me some time to process. No illusions to be had, just the truth.
But even when things perfectly align for us, we can't do things outside of our moral boundaries.
When David happened upon Saul in the cave, he could have taken his life and taken the throne then.
But David was a man who feared God, and because of this, he had to do things the right way, not cheating his way upon it.
Cheating and doing things immorally is not the way of our Father.
His way is to do things honestly, not deceptively.
We all have our obligations and our firm foundations, and sometimes making the right choice tears the foundation apart. It doesn't mean we don't care about our foundations, it only means that sometimes things aren't right for us.
We all know someone who was trapped in a toxic relationship, or people who don't speak to their parents on pleasant terms because of some past falling out.
Sometimes we don't make a good first choice, and it takes time to repair the damage that our choices made.
We may have said the wrong things, chosen the wrong person, or felt like we let our Creator down.
Other times, we might have rushed in, and not thought things through before making a choice.
I've said before that not choosing God's best is like spitting in His face and saying, "I know better than You do."
But when choosing God's best means uprooting everything and moving forward in that new direction, it is sometimes difficult.
Our tears are precious to God, and He counts every one.
As a man, I certainly don't enjoy making a woman cry, so imagine how He feels about billions of people around the world under His watchful eyes of both genders.
The amount of love that He has for us is unfathomable.
It's a divine thing, far above earthly understanding.
Speaking of earthly things, whether they be our work, our relationships, or our limiting beliefs, it is best to proceed with heavenly wisdom in all things.
Work at your occupation as unto the LORD. He watches us all the time. Do your best at it.
Tell the person you love, "I love you, too." Or, if it's early, that you like them and would love nothing more than to fall in love with them.
Let go of limiting beliefs, limiting relationships, and limiting work ethics.
But remember, everything has to be done the right way. Perhaps the reason things take longer is we simply need to do things the right way, because our moral ethics are important to follow.
