Let Him Have the Glory by Being You

Have you ever questioned why God made you a certain way?

Why do I have this disability?

Why am I this tall?

Why am I so keen on this path, but my talents are even stronger for that path?

The answer is that Yahweh gets the glory.

Trials make us stronger, forcing us to grow into the men and women we are to be.

Perhaps you became disabled so you didn't take a path that would have killed you too early, or to stop you from choosing a door never meant for you.

God made you shorter, so you didn't choose the NBA over the life-changing invention you're supposed to invent when you turn 35.

You might be multi-talented, but the right path is where you best serve Him.

God gets the glory when you follow His path for your life.

Closed doors are for our good, and better doors are on the horizon.

Let's say God desires you to become a world-class fingerstyle guitarist, but you've spent over a decade bodybuilding instead.

Why not do both?

Or, as often happens, you don't win any competitions because God is saying, "This isn't your skill that I placed in you."

He'll receive far more glory if you choose His path over your own plans.

It's best to stay honest and true.

If you must lie to get a certain position, then that isn't the door for you.

When Joseph was before Pharaoh, he didn't say it was in him at all to interpret his dreams. God gave the interpretation, using Joseph as the vessel for God's glory.

God saved the nation of Israel through this humility—this notion of offering all credit to the Father.

It was Joseph's honesty that got him where he needed to be, when he needed to be there.

If it weren't for his integrity, he wouldn't have landed in prison with the butler and baker, and his divine destiny wouldn't have aligned perfectly with the changing times in Egypt.

In this, God received all the glory.

God gave him the gift of dream interpretation.

In this way, Joseph saved his entire family and the rest of the known world, too.

He didn't ask, "Why did you make me a slave?"

He didn't ask, "Why am I imprisoned?"

He knew God gave him a gift and used it to save a nation from starvation.

His dreams from his youth kept him focused on God's glory.

He knew when the butler and baker had their respective outcomes from their dreams that God was sure to fulfill his own dreams of the future as well, no matter how the situation looked to him.

Because in doing it this way, God gets all the glory.

Your shortcomings aren't what you should focus on.

Your situation isn't what you should focus on.

It should be on Yahweh, the One who gave us all breath.

Give all the glory to Him, and thank Him for your setbacks, disappointments, and heartaches.

He has a higher plan in mind.

It's sometimes beyond our understanding.

It may even offend some people or seem outlandish.

But that's how you know He will get the glory due to Him.

Because if He's the one steering the ship, you'll make it to that glorious shore.

Just remember that He deserves the praise, not us.

Look in the mirror and tell yourself, "Can you forgive me? I didn't do anything wrong, did I? Don't believe the lies."

"You aren't a mistake. He made you as you're supposed to be."

"I'm supposed to shine, but He defines how I make that reality come alive."

Let God have the glory, so you'll have lived one amazing story.
