Christian Isn’t a Synonym for Weak
In today's society, being a Christian seems to be equivalent to being an emasculated, good little puppy.
God doesn't change, and His standards of righteousness never change either.
Have you ever noticed that about modern Christianity?
Do you have to be a weak, passive person to be considered righteous by many of these pastors?
Where is that in the Bible?
I believe in love.
I believe in loving our fellow man, turning the other cheek, and keeping people out of the Lake of Fire.
You love them first, then tell them to repent.
That's a noble method of turning people to righteousness.
Insulting them does not do anything but turn them away from the faith.
But if you were on the train tracks of a magnetic bullet train and it was coming without stopping, I'd assume you'd want me to warn you.
That's also loving.
Feeding into someone's delusions is not loving. If I'm Dad, can I then say I'm Mom? Of course not!
But Christian society wants us neutered.
Jesus is gentle; He is meek. When He came the first time, He gave us the right example to follow with others.
But He's coming the second time in fire and wrath.
Exodus 15:3 "Yahweh is a man of battle; Yahweh is His name.
Revelation 3:19 "Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent."
Jesus says He disciplines us, and we must be zealous for good works and repent of sins.
Loving others is one way to stay in His good graces. While works don't save us, they show evidence we have transformed into new creations.
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
This does not mean we get to be doormats and let people walk all over us.
If someone wants to speak ill of you, ignore it. They're gossiping fools.
If someone is attacking your family, you stop them. With force if necessary.
Cuddly little teddy bears aren't what we're supposed to be.
Men of God are strong.
Most people today wouldn't consider Samson a man to look up to, but the truth is, the text never says anything outright negative about him. He was walking a fine line with a Nazirite vow over his head, but he never broke it until he cut his hair.
His desire for Delilah and the harlots isn't the point of the story. He is in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews, along with a harlot named Rahab. Our God is not too small to use those things society deems questionable.
Samson was a strong and valiant warrior, not a cowering wuss in a wool sweater with thick-rimmed glasses and rolled-up sleeves, preaching about the evils of being a man.
We should all strive to be more like Samson, who, in a moment of trouble, sought the Lord once more.
David was a poet, a musician, and a warrior. Everyone overlooked him, and when Samuel selected him for kingship, it shocked his whole family.
God often uses those whom society and the world deem unfit for anything. That's how He gets more glory. He uses the jokes, the outcasts, and the people you'd never expect.
But these men make the men of today look like rabbits in the sight of a lion.
They had courage that could only come from God.
I can't see the average pastor taking out a terrorist.
But I can see David, Samson, Gideon, and Jesus as the warrior-king Messiah doing it.
When Jesus returns, He stomps on His enemies like grapes in a winepress.
Meek Messiah?
Hardly.
As men and women of Christ, we need the boldness that comes from the Heavenly Father.
Being more feminine is not the way of the master for a man.
Letting evil run rampant is not the way of the master for either sex.
Being a man is not an evil thing.
God gave us our nature, and we image Him by using it.
There is nothing wrong with being a little fierce.
It's what wins wars and keeps free nations free.
Stop emasculating Jesus and letting society do it to Christian men.
It takes guts to die as a martyr and to die to oneself.
As we approach the End of the Age, this type of cuddly Christianity isn't going to cut it anymore.
Stay strong, and fight for the one who was strong enough to die for you.
