Proof of Angelic Intervention

Sometimes, an event that transpires makes you realize that there really is someone looking out for you.

Matthew 18:10 states this succinctly.

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven, their angels always see the face of my Father, who is in heaven."

Everyone has a guardian angel, perhaps more than one. The text doesn't specify.

They guide us, protect us, and watch over us from another dimension.

A little over a week ago, a gunman attacked my family while we were sleeping. Or, rather, we would have been sleeping. Right before the attack, I awoke suddenly with a strange feeling that I couldn't place. We heard one shot, followed by a full clip, let loose on the house.

In that moment, instinct and wisdom took over.

We stayed low, gathered everyone and our guns, and called 911.

They had fled the scene immediately after dumping the clip.

While the investigation is ongoing and I won't be divulging details, it proves to me that angels are looking out for us.

Not one bullet hit us, and we stayed calm and rational under fire.

We live in a wonderful neighborhood, so this sort of thing is shocking.

However, it lets me know that I will never die before my time.

God has a plan for each of us, and it is impossible to die until He fulfills that plan.

Being a target isn't a sad thing.

The sad thing is that two of our neighbors have infants in their homes.

Those children also have angels, and while they protect us, I can't help but feel I don't understand what possesses people to do these things.

Humans are capable of great good and great evil.

Malicious gossips tear others down whom they don't even know; men rob others; people cheat to get ahead; nations attack other nations instead of diplomacy; and the list is almost endless.

But again, my angels were looking out for me. My wife's angel was looking out for her, and my childrens’ angels also stood guard.

Perhaps we have a family set of angels. Who can say?

But they clearly exist.

It isn't a coincidence that I woke up right before the attack and that not one bullet hit any of us or our dogs.

That's divine providence.

God watches over those of us who keep His commandments and love others like Jesus taught us.

Remember that angels are looking out for you, and thank God for another day you're breathing.
